Ultra Bee MY23-24 vs MY25 Compatibility Overview

Surron Ultra Bee Model Year Compatibility Overview

1. Powertrain and electrical system

The biggest differences between MY23-24 and MY25 Ultra Bee are in the motor, controller and battery.

Motor

  • MY23-24 motor assembly is listed as 11100-YQ5A-Z1 (and 11100-YQ5A-00B0 without side logo cap).
  • MY24-25 motor assembly is 11100-YQ5A-Z2 (and 11100-YQ5A-11B0 without side logo cap) and is marked not compatible with MY23.
  • In practice, treat the MY23 motor as its own generation. MY24 and MY25 share the updated motor spec, but you should not cross install MY24-25 motors onto MY23 bikes without following factory guidance.

Controller

  • MY23-24 controller assemblies are listed as 21100-YQ5A-Z1 / 21100-YQ5A-11B0.
  • MY25 controller assemblies are 21100-YQ5A-Z3 / 21100-YQ5A-22B0 and are marked not compatible with MY23-24.
  • Always match controller generation to the bike model year group (MY23-24 vs MY25).

Battery and charger

  • MY23-24 battery pack is 26000-YQ5A-0000.
  • MY25 battery pack is 26000-YQ5A-0200.
  • The parts sheet notes that the MY23-24 battery can cause overcurrent issues if installed on a MY25 Ultra Bee.
  • The MY25 battery can be installed on MY23-24 Ultra Bee. It slightly increases range while power output remains the same.
  • Charger 21700-YQ5A-0200 is listed for all model years and can be used across MY23-25 as long as it is paired with the correct battery and wiring.

Main harness and power cabling

  • The main harness (24100-YQ5C-0000) and communication cable are marked as ALL MY, which means they are shared across model years.
  • This gives some flexibility for repairs, but controller, motor and battery still need to follow the generation rules above.

2. Midshaft and primary belt drive

The Ultra Bee primary drive is one of the clearest places where MY23-24 and MY25 parts are not directly interchangeable.

  • Midshaft assemblies:
    • MY23-24 midshaft assembly: 61280-YQ5A-Z1
    • MY25 midshaft assembly: 61280-YQ5A-Z2
  • The parts sheet notes that the MY25 midshaft is not compatible with the old version unless the MY25 belt and pulley are also installed.
  • Primary belt and pulley:
    • MY23-24 rear primary pulley: 13202-YQ5A-0000
    • MY25 rear primary pulley: 13202-YQ5A-0100
    • MY23-24 belts: 13111-YQ5A-0000 (Conti) and 13111-YQ5A-0200 (Gates)
    • MY25 belt: 13111-YQ5A-0300 (Dyco)
  • Important: treat the pulley, belt and midshaft as a matched set. If you change one generation, change the whole group to MY25 spec.

3. Frame, suspension and chassis

Most of the core chassis hardware carries the same part numbers across model years, even when color codes change.

  • Frame assemblies have MY23-24 and MY25 color variants, but key service parts like brackets, battery supports and bushings are labeled ALL MY.
  • Swingarm assemblies have separate MY23-24 and MY25 color listings, while internal hardware (bushings, pivots, protection blocks) is shared.
  • Linkage, triangular cantilever assembly, skid plate, footpegs, side stand and their bearings and seals are common across all model years.
  • Seat options (standard and low) are marked compatible with all versions, including MY25.
  • Triple clamp, steering bearings and many front end components are also shared across years.

4. Wheels and tires

Ultra Bee rear wheel options are dimension choices rather than generation splits.

  • Front wheel assemblies, hub, axle and spacers are all listed as ALL MY and can be used on any Ultra Bee model year.
  • Rear wheel assemblies are available in 18 inch and 19 inch MX options, all marked as ALL MY, so you can run either wheel size on MY23-25.
  • Rear sprocket, brake disc, wheel bearings and axle hardware are shared across model years.

5. Brakes and handlebar controls

Braking system

  • Front brake system assemblies are split by year, but the parts sheet notes the MY25 front brake system assembly is compatible with the old version.
  • Rear brake system assemblies are also split by year, and again the MY25 system is marked compatible with earlier bikes.
  • Calipers, pads, hoses and most small brake hardware are listed as shared or compatible across MY23-25.
  • In practice, you can upgrade a MY23-24 bike to the MY25 brake assemblies as a complete system without compatibility issues.

Handlebar switches and controls

  • Ride by wire throttle and main handlebar, clamps and grips are shared across model years.
  • Right and left combination switches have separate MY23-24 and MY25 part numbers and are explicitly marked not compatible with the old version.
  • When replacing switchgear, match the combination switch part number to the bike model year.

6. Shared components across all Ultra Bee years

Even with the MY25 updates, much of the Ultra Bee platform is common from MY23 onward:

  • Main frame structure and subframe (with different color codes)
  • Seat and seat height options
  • Swingarm hardware, wheel spacers and drivetrain guards
  • Linkage, triangular cantilever and rear shock
  • Front fork assemblies and protectors
  • Front and rear wheel hubs, most bearings and spacers, brake discs and sprockets
  • Dashboard, headlight, key switch set, USB port and most lighting hardware
  • Most plastic fenders and covers, plus fasteners and universal hardware

These shared components keep parts support strong for all Ultra Bee model years and make MY23-25 upgrades straightforward as long as the key generation specific items above are respected.
